BME allows you to resize pictures and areas numerically. You can enlarge or reduce the size of a picture or area with or without scaling the picture data.
Reducing the size of a picture or area without scaling will crop the picture data. Enlarging the size of a picture or area without scaling will add additional pixels to the picture. The new pixels will be black for all pictures except palette pictures, which use color 0.
Reducing or enlarging a picture or area with scaling changes its size and adds or removes pixels inside the picture data.
1. Select what to resize.Select an area to resize, or deselect a selected area if you want to resize the entire picture.
2. Choose the Resize command from the Effects menu.
The Resize dialog box will appear.
3. Change the size.
The current size of the area or picture will be shown in the Width and Height text controls, and below the Size values at the bottom left of the window. Change the values to the new size.
BME's text controls support math (just like PageStream's), which can be useful if you need to resize a picture proportionally. For example, if you want to resize a picture to 80% of its original size, just add "*.8" (without the quotes) to each of the Width and Height values. BME will automatically calculate the new values.
4. Choose how to place the existing image.
When you enlarge a picture or area, you can choose whether to place the existing image in a corner of the new picture or area, or in its center. When you reduce the size of a picture or area, the same placement options will crop the existing picture or area. Choose Upper Left, Lower Left, Upper Right, Lower Right or Center from the Placement pop-up menu. Click on Resize.
